In 2009, the company name of La Seguridad de Centroamérica was changed to Chartis Seguros Guatemala, S.A., strengthening the company’s global image.

Subsequently, on January 19, 2017, ASSA Compañía Tenedora, S.A., acquired the shares of AIG Seguros Guatemala, S.A. forming what is now ASSA Compañía de Seguros, S.A. in Guatemala.
